The AI agent doesn't have finish samples to share that can be left with the client to view as the weather and light changes, to see how they feel with those colors and textures. AI makes things "Pinterest-pretty"; I make them personally right. And most importantly, if someone just wants quick inspiration, AI can help with that. If they want a space that works, lasts, and feels right in real life, they need a designer to help them create it.

It’s not from that project, but I wanted to include it to show you how AI doesn’t always understand architectural spacing and scale.

I've been using AI as a tool for a while for my business. I use it a lot for writing, and sometimes to help with initial concepts, to give a client some inspiration, but when creating images the room's depth of scale is often way off.

Here is an example of where AI (ChatGPT) created an image for me using one of my window treatments and I asked it to add a cushion on the bench beneath. But look at what it also added at the ceiling. An awkward soffit that makes no sense. This did not exist in the original image. It just placed it there on its own. Crazy stuff.

Our ideal clients want a bespoke, concierge service and they want someone they can trust who gets to know them, how they live, and what to ask/manage/expect of vendors and builders. They’re trading money for time and know the value.

AI does not understand color selection, it can’t replace our skills with details, combining patterns, or the procurement process which is a full time job that requires a network of vendor resources. AI always get the scale wrong. It lacks architectural logic. Where to put highlights and shadows.
